How to Evaluate a Software Development Company in Saudi Arabia
How to compare software development companies and app agencies in Saudi Arabia: team, process, references, contracts, and the ownership terms that protect you.

Proposals are not comparable by price alone
Three proposals for the same app can differ several times in price because they assume different scope, quality, team seniority, and post-launch support. Before comparing numbers, make sure each vendor is pricing the same written scope.
What to evaluate
Claims are easy to make. Ask for evidence.
- Team: who will actually work on your project, their seniority, and whether they are employees or subcontractors
- Relevant work: live products you can try, ideally with Arabic/English and local payments
- Process: discovery, design, testing, release, and how changes are handled
- Technology choices: mainstream, well-supported stacks that another team could maintain
- References: conversations with clients whose projects are at least a year old
Contract terms that protect you
These terms cost little to agree at the start and are expensive to fix later.
- Source code, designs, and documentation belong to you, delivered continuously to your repositories
- Cloud, domain, app store, and third-party accounts are opened in your company's name
- Clear acceptance criteria and a warranty period for defects
- A handover obligation if the relationship ends
- Defined support and maintenance terms after launch
Keep someone on your side of the table
Even the best vendor needs a client who can accept or challenge the work. If you do not have a technical lead, an independent technology advisor or fractional CTO can review proposals, write the scope, and hold the vendor to a definition of done.
